DESIGNED AROUND THE CAR: MERCEDES-BENZ E 300 L V214 × FACEWHEELS FW1068 20"
The Mercedes-Benz E 300 L V214 combines the proportions of a long-wheelbase executive sedan with a more contemporary and technically detailed design language.
Its extended body, flowing shoulder line and chrome exterior trim establish an elegant foundation. For this project, the objective was to introduce a stronger wheel presence without disrupting the refinement that defines the E-Class.
The solution is a custom staggered set of FACEWHEELS FW1068 forged wheels. Finished in Hyper Silver and sized specifically for the front and rear axles, the setup gives the E 300 L a more precise, balanced and individual appearance.
NAUTIC BLUE METALLIC × HYPER SILVER
Nautic Blue Metallic gives the body a sophisticated dual character.
In shade, the paint appears deep and restrained, approaching black from certain angles. Under direct sunlight, its blue metallic depth becomes visible across the hood, doors and rear quarter panels.
Hyper Silver provides a clean contrast against this dark exterior. The brighter wheel finish reflects the chrome grille, window surrounds and lower-body details, connecting the new wheels with the vehicle’s original design elements.
Rather than introducing an unrelated accent color, the combination builds on the E 300 L’s existing material palette. The result feels coordinated, modern and appropriately refined.
FACEWHEELS FW1068 — LAYERED MULTI-SPOKE DETAIL
The FACEWHEELS FW1068 features an intricate multi-spoke arrangement with layered surfaces and clearly defined transitions.
The spokes divide as they extend toward the outer rim, creating a complex appearance without making the wheel feel visually heavy. Their alternating angles produce changing highlights, allowing the structure to reveal new details as the car or viewing position moves.
Sculpted sections near the hub add depth to the center of the wheel, while the open spaces between the spokes keep the design visually light and expose the braking hardware behind it.
FACEWHEELS engraving and custom center caps complete the design with a clean, integrated finish.
20 × 8.5J FRONT / 20 × 9.5J REAR — A CONTROLLED STAGGER
This E 300 L uses a 20 × 8.5J front and 20 × 9.5J rear configuration.
The equal 20-inch diameter maintains visual consistency across both axles, while the wider rear wheel adds subtle emphasis to the back of the long-wheelbase body.
From the front three-quarter angle, the 8.5J front wheels remain proportional to the steering axle and preserve a composed appearance. From the rear, the 9.5J wheels give the car a broader and more planted stance.
The stagger is noticeable without becoming exaggerated. It supports the proportions of the V214 and gives the vehicle a more confident presence while retaining the polished character expected of an E-Class.
HYPER SILVER SHARPENS THE DESIGN
Hyper Silver is particularly effective on the FW1068 because it makes the wheel’s layered geometry easier to read.
Light collects along the raised edges and sculpted spoke surfaces, while recessed areas appear deeper and more defined. This contrast emphasizes the complexity of the wheel without requiring a dark or highly contrasting finish.
In direct sunlight, Hyper Silver produces crisp highlights that separate the spokes from the dark Nautic Blue Metallic bodywork. In softer light, the finish becomes calmer and takes on a more understated metallic appearance.
The color also complements the factory chrome details throughout the exterior, allowing the FW1068 to look naturally integrated with the vehicle.
BUILT AROUND THE MERCEDES-BENZ E 300 L V214
The long-wheelbase E-Class requires a wheel design with enough visual detail to balance its extended proportions.
The FW1068 achieves this through a dense but carefully organized spoke structure. Its sculpted surfaces add technical character, while the open layout and bright finish prevent the design from appearing overly heavy.
The custom sizing positions the wheels naturally within the bodywork and strengthens the vehicle’s stance from every angle.
The installation does not attempt to change the identity of the E 300 L. Instead, it refines its proportions and introduces a more distinctive expression while preserving the car’s original elegance.
FORGED TO STAND APART
This Mercedes-Benz E 300 L demonstrates how a carefully developed wheel design can transform an executive sedan without compromising its sophistication.
The FW1068’s intricate multi-spoke geometry adds detail and dimension. Its 20-inch staggered widths create a controlled stance, while Hyper Silver establishes a clean visual relationship with the Nautic Blue Metallic exterior and factory chrome trim.
The finished setup is elegant, technical and unmistakably individual.
