The Audi A7 Sportback C8 is defined by a long fastback roofline, broad shoulder surfaces and a clean horizontal design that gives the car visual width from every angle.
For this build, FACEWHEELS FW160 custom forged wheels were specified in Satin Gunmetal, with a square 20 × 9J fitment.
The objective was to give the A7 a stronger lower-body structure while preserving the restraint of its original design. The wheel package adds detail, supports the long profile and creates a more deliberate connection between the body and the road.
BLACK EXTERIOR × SATIN GUNMETAL
The relationship between the black exterior and the Satin Gunmetal wheels creates a dark tonal composition with controlled separation.
The bodywork produces deep reflections across the doors, roofline and rear quarters. Beneath it, Satin Gunmetal is slightly lighter and more technical, allowing the wheel design to remain visible without interrupting the monochrome character of the build.
Direct light defines the spoke edges and reveals the metallic quality of the finish. In shade, the wheels become deeper and more unified with the body, giving the A7 a low and cohesive presence.
FACEWHEELS FW160 — CLEAN STRUCTURE FOR A FASTBACK PROFILE
The FACEWHEELS FW160 uses an open multi-spoke layout that moves outward from a compact center toward the outer rim.
Its geometry creates a clear, technical outline and preserves depth around the brake hardware. The design remains readable from a distance, while closer views reveal the transitions between the center, spoke surfaces and rim.
On the A7 Sportback, the spoke movement complements the long horizontal body lines and adds structure beneath the smooth exterior surfaces.
20 × 9J — PROPORTION FOR THE A7
The square 20 × 9J configuration maintains consistent proportions at all four corners and gives the FW160 enough scale to fill the A7's broad arches.
From the side, the 20-inch diameter remains balanced with the A7's long wheelbase and low roofline. From front and rear three-quarter views, the 9J width gives the car a planted stance without making the fitment appear forced.
This approach keeps the wheel package connected to the architecture of the car rather than treating diameter as the only measure of presence.
SATIN GUNMETAL REVEALS THE FORM
Satin Gunmetal gives the FW160 a technical metallic response without the glare of a polished finish.
Light settles gradually across the spokes, emphasizing raised surfaces while leaving recessed areas darker. The resulting variation reveals the depth of the design and keeps the wheel visible against the black exterior.
The finish also creates a natural relationship with the dark glass and exterior trim. Together, these elements give the complete build a layered monochrome character.
